Madeline and Grant’s smiles shone as bright as one would expect, having met in St. Thomas studying dentistry and are both successful dentists today. The bands they both wore were made by Grant using a classic dentistry technique. The pair matched in icy white floral arrangements: Grant with his boutonniere and Madeline with her hair accent. Their ceremony and reception sites were both connected and juxtaposed: Our Lady of Lourdes is currently the oldest church in Minneapolis, positively steeped in tradition. The rusticity of the Solar Arts building shares its timelessness but with an added modern grittiness. Their nuptials were serenaded by instrumentalists from Madeline’s former high school, DeLaSalle, combined with vocals by Grant’s father. A classic bursting from the sanctuary doors led the pair to an antiquely-lit reception space with hanging greenery and recycled bottle centerpieces. Madeline and Grant opted for two cakes for the evening, one tradition three-tier and a groom’s cake in the shape of their dog, Darla. Laughter and dancing ensued. Mini-golf was even played. The smiles knew no bounds.
