And what sounds more delicious than Italian buttercream? “This type of buttercream has a soft, silky texture that melts in your mouth,” says Kissner. We can’t wait.

“This design was loosely based off a wallpaper pattern,” says Laurie Lin, co-owner of Cocoa & Fig. Light as air, this dessert declares springtime with delicate texture along an all-white tier, softly enhanced by the charming spray of gum-paste flowers. The floral palette is subtle, ensuring the tier isn’t overpowered. Notes Lin, “One-tier cakes need to have just as much balance as multi-tiered cakes.”
