Alexis Matrka and Roberto Alva met while they were completing their surgical residencies at the Mayo Clinic, where they shared lunch in the hospital cafeteria during their intern year and built a sweet friendship that developed into a deeper relationship. The couple’s timeless spring wedding brought a Vermont meadow aesthetic to Minnesota with spring greens and white florals, accented by soft, pale pinks. At the bride’s request, less-traditional blooms were used, among them white anemone poppies and lilies of the valley that made up the bride’s bouquet. A variety of floral textures graced the tablescape, from large, flowing arrangements to a collection of smaller vases. Engaging with their guests was the newlywed couple’s highest priority as they enjoyed cocktail hour and danced the night away with their loved ones. A surprise visit from a Mariachi band, organized by the bride’s stepfather, was an exciting end to dinner and a moving personal touch on Alexis and Roberto’s special day.
Alexis and Roberto's spring wedding paired elegant pastel hues with a refined black and white formality.
