Ceremony & reception: Historic John P. Furber Farm, Cottage Grove
Kendrah Wink and Andrew Peters were high school friends, even though Andrew had a crush on her the whole time. “I never wanted to tell her, because I didn’t want to risk losing her as a best friend,” he says. Things finally progressed after he joined the military and asked her to the Marine Corps Ball. Because Andy is rarely home, the John P. Furber Farm was the only wedding venue that they got to tour together. Luckily, they loved it. “It was beautiful,” she says. “I loved the idea of a rustic but elegant barn wedding, and needless to say, it was perfect.” Kendrah says the best part of the wedding was the end, when they had a sparkler send-off, ran down the driveway and piled into the car as husband and wife. “Since our relationship has been mainly long-distance, we were always counting down the days until we got to see each other again,” Kendrah says, “but this time we were counting down the days until we said 'Forever.' ”
This sweet pair went from high school friends to husband and wife.
