Barn weddings are often labeled “rustic” or “charming”, but this inspiring concept shows that barn venues can also play host to lavish weddings. Historic Hope Glen Farm in Cottage Grove, MN and all of its amenities was the perfect venue to showcase a softer, more romantic and whimsical version of a Minnesota barn wedding. The bride's stunning look was created with Martina Liana’s “Whimsical Tiered Ballgown” from Bridal Accents Couture and complimented with a romantic makeup style by Amy Rachael Makeup Artist and braided and twisted updo by 139 Hair by Heidi. To reflect the dress’s modern and whimsical style, Studio B Floral Designs included soft pink peonies, garden roses, and light, airy plumose greens in the bouquet and the floral decor. We’ve Got It Covered added blue chiffon draping to soften the venue’s ceremony arch. For the venue’s reception area, blue chiffon was used on the head table chairs and draping framed the venue’s fireplace and backdrop. These aspects, combined with the venue’s chandeliers, created a romantic touch to the farm’s open pavilion. A floral stationery suite by Ivory Isle Designs that included menu cards and table numbers completed the tablescape. Of course, there can’t be a wedding without dessert! Miss Sara’s Cakery designed an ombre dusty rose cake with ruffle and lace details that emulated the dress. This dusty blue and blush inspired concept shows how barn weddings can have an elegant and modern twist.
