Renown Chef Timothy Fischer isn't so much new to the neighborhood as he has returned to it-- and boy are we glad. As Loews Minneapolis Hotel's new Executive Chef, Fischer is bringing a lot of fresh ideas to the table (literally). After an award-winning culinary career throughout the country, the Chef, a James Beard semi-finalist, has returned to his home state. Looking to amp up your wedding cuisine? Keep reading.

Some enticing new offerings that the Chef has brought with him include creative and eye-catching plating techniques, as well as a dedication to farm-fresh fare. He notes that 90 % of the dishes served at Cosmos, the Hotel's glamorous restaurant, are sourced from a group of about 20 farms in the immidiate Midwest. Chef Tim is very excited to be back, and proud that the Twin Cities are so progressive when it comes to cuisine and local, natural products.

Not only are the ingredients fresh, but the meals are as well. Loews prides themselves on an excellent service staff, and they never use hotplates. The beautifully displayed meals go directly from the Chef's hand to their guest's tables. Couples looking to book at Loews will enjoy a one-of-a kind experience. Their wedding catering staff, along with the Chef will guide you through a personal tasting so you can select the perfect reception menu to be shared as you celebrate with your loved ones.

In addition to the culinary talents of Chef Fischer, Loews (formerly Graves) is making other exciting changes, including an exceptional new pastry chef and a large-scale rennovation. Director of Catering Terrie Bulanek tells me that many couples are opting to turn their wedding festivities into a weekend getaway for guests by reserving blocks of rooms and holding both the ceremony and reception in the Hotel. With outstanding food and a beautiful space, I can't think of anything better.
