Kelsey Herbst and Grant Sherwood, who met during college at St. Louis University, wanted a wedding that reflected their personalities. This meant killer food and drink, great style and, perhaps most important, their 6-year-old chocolate Lab, Bentley. “We couldn’t picture our wedding day without him there! He helped Grant walk down the aisle and chomped bugs at the altar as he waited,” Kelsey says. Having an outdoor ceremony was very important to them, too, and choosing The Woods Chapel was a no-brainer—it was stunning. As soon as they stepped into the Solar Arts Building, they fell in love with its wood beams, exposed brick and history, and knew that had to be the site for the reception. The ceremony and reception were both very special, but the couple’s highlight was just before the first look. “It was such a beautiful day, and all of the sights and sounds surrounding that moment are forever ingrained in our memories,” Kelsey says.
