Because she works in the wedding industry, Cat Coleman knew exactly what she wanted for her and Jake Casareto’s big day. Their wedding was timeless and elegant, featuring lots of greenery and natural light. During both the ceremony and the reception, family played a big role. In honor of Cat’s mother, who had passed away years ago, Cat took the lace from her mother’s dress and lined the bottom of her detachable tulle skirt with it. She also used the same centerpiece vases her mother had bought for her older sister’s wedding; Cat is now saving them for her younger sister’s wedding. Jake donned family treasures, too, wearing cuff links that have been passed down several generations. Good food was a must: “We are all about the food!” says Cat, marketing director for Black Woods Group, which owns and runs several popular wedding venues and catering businesses in Duluth. Many of those vendors are friends of Cat’s, and at the end of the day, they were family, too, as they all sat down and celebrated together.
