TOP OF THE TIARA: ALL-AROUND BEST WEDDING VENDOR
Winner: Bellagala
St. Paul | 651.227.1202 | bellagala.com
When Kayla and Adam Mathwig were planning their May 7, 2011 wedding, they knew that besides a gorgeous gown, the perfect venue and a glorious cake, they wanted the music at their reception to get everyone on their feet and onto the dance floor.
“It was really important to us that our reception would be a good time for people of all ages,” says Kayla, who reveals she had been to many weddings where that wasn’t always the case. So they turned to Bellagala, a full-service wedding planning company that offers everything from music and photography to cakes and flowers, started by wedding industry expert Tim George in 2004.
“We started with four services and have expanded to include 16,” says sales coordinator Sari Lindeman. “Our goal is to simplify the whole wedding planning process and to give couples peace of mind working with experts every step of the way. Because we work with a variety of artists, couples can pick and choose which one best fits their personality and style.”
It was through that thorough selection process that Kayla and Adam found the perfect DJ for their reception.
“Our DJ Matt was amazing. I can say with 100 percent certainty that I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than him. He clearly had a lot of experience; he was very personable and the crowd loved him,” says Kayla.
And when her dad made a last-minute song switch for the father-daughter dance, Matt didn’t sweat, or panic—he went with the flow and found the song because he knew it really mattered.
“That dance was meaningful in so many ways—it’s a tradition that I think both dads and daughters dream of, but it also gave us a chance to talk about my husband and our approaching life together,” says Kayla.
