Ceremony & reception: Camrose Hill Flower Farm, Stillwater
“I wanted garden-wedding vibes with an effortless, casual twist,” Melanie Chenal says of her wedding to college sweetheart Paul Vanden Heuvel. Camrose Hill Flower Farm was the perfect setting for the lush, nature-inspired event. Of course, when Mother Nature is involved, you never know what you’re going to get, and Melanie and Paul got a few curveballs. It poured rain in the morning, but then temperatures soared to 95 degrees. “It was hot and sticky, but that didn’t stop anyone from having an amazing time,” she says. The true scene-stealers, though, were Melanie’s nieces, who served as flower girls and ushers. “My flower girls nearly outshined me!” she says. “Everyone kept raving about how adorable and perfect they were—and believe me, they were. They handed out fans and helped people to their seats. It was such a fun way to include them in our day.”
The garden-themed event had an effortless, casual twist.
