When Danny Burke saw Lizzie Brown singing on stage nearly a decade ago, he probably didn’t think he was seeing his future wife, but he did have the good sense to introduce himself. The pair soon began dating and eventually combined their musical talents to become local band Meme. Fast forward several years, and Danny proposed to Lizzie in Afton State Park. Not wanting to waste any time, the couple planned their wedding in just three months. “The nature of the timeframe helped us see what was really important to us and not stress about every little detail,” Lizzie says. Picking the location was easy—The Outing Lodge was the first place they looked at, and it met Danny’s criteria of a setting where he could look up and see the stars. “The words that were spoken, our vows and being outside as the sun set and the sunlight came through the trees—we will never forget how magical and powerful that moment was.”
