Indian Tradition Meets Soft Western Modernity at The Lowlands

For their sangeet, Meghna and Samit chose outfits from India in a pastel palette, blending traditional embroidery and contemporary stonework. Their sangeet was a colorful affair, with bridesmaids and groomsmen dressed in their favorite hues. Meghna's look was a stunning ombre teal and blue lehenga, which her mother flew to India to pick up and to ensure the color was perfect. For the wedding day, Meghna opted for a fusion look, combining Punjabi and Maharashtrian traditions. Her red lehenga, a nod to Amit's Punjabi heritage, was adorned with intricate gold details and draped like a saree to pay homage to her Maharashtrian roots. The reception saw the couple in new outfits, with Amit in a tuxedo and Meghna in a violet lehenga that showcased exquisite embroidery and beadwork. The traditional elements of the festivities included a baraat (groom's procession), with Amit entering on horseback. As a personal touch, the couple, who call each other "goose," had images of a goose hidden throughout their signage, including the bar coasters.
