Brian Wilton and Sydney Franklin had been dating just over six years when he popped the question while stargazing by the lake on the annual trip to Sugar Lake Lodge with Sydney’s family. Brian got the ring the day before they left for the trip; the proposal was a surprise to everyone. On their wedding day, Bavaria Downs was filled with fanciful florals, reflecting their bold personalities. Sage green bridesmaids’ dresses and bright blooms popped against the black linens at the reception. The bride did a first look with her dad, accompanied by tears of joy. Since the “nearlyweds” had spent the night before apart, their first look was a most memorable moment. As Sydney came down the aisle, she carried her late family members with her in a locket holding their pictures wrapped around her bouquet. A graphic designer, Sydney designed everything from the signage to the background of the photobooth. “We felt so fortunate to be surrounded by our loved ones who supported and shaped our relationship,” Sydney said.
