Family was the central theme at Andrea Gussel and Ross Hillukka’s fairytale wedding. The couple actually hosted two weddings. The first was a smaller ceremony, which allowed Andrea’s father who has Alzheimer’s to walk her down the aisle, then a bigger celebration several months later. Although her father couldn’t attend the second wedding, he was with Andrea in spirit: A blue heart cut from one of his shirts was sewn into her dress, and she included a photo of him in a bouquet charm. As another moving tribute to Andrea’s family, the newlyweds held their reception in the Saint Paul Hotel, just as her parents had 36 years before. Breathtaking florals in shades of icy pink and a dash of sparkle added a modern touch, and a floral chandelier floating over the dance floor continued the enchanting ambiance and provided a Cinderella moment for Andrea. In a perfect ending, the couple left the reception to “Love Story” by Taylor Swift.
Andrea and Ross hosted a more intimate ceremony with family before their whimsical and floral-filled celebration.
