Bright, cheery florals took center stage for Sarah Johnson and Brandon Wiedemeier’s Earth Day celebration at Machine Shop in Minneapolis. The pair assembled a dream team of vendors to bring their floral-filled day to life. As a wedding industry professional for over 10 years, Sarah had a clear vision of what the couple’s nuptials would look like. First, the venue: Machine Shop was a no-brainer, as Sarah is the executive director, and getting married there felt like getting married at her second home. To pay homage to Earth Day, they worked with sustainable vendors to create an enchanting design. Kindred Blooms used moss, branches and blooming florals while velvet linens and floral napkins played into the garden theme. A canopy illuminated by lanterns set a romantic tone for the ceremony. The bride held a bouquet of peonies, poppies, allium, tulips and sweet pea, while her bridesmaids had monochromatic flowers that complemented their dresses. Guests surrounded the couple with love in a semi-circle. The night ended with sparklers, a live band and a packed dance floor. “We wanted this day to feel like a big hug to all the loved ones who have supported us and were celebrating with us that day,” Sarah says. Safe to say they achieved their goal.
A cheerful floral-filled celebration took form for Sarah and Brandon's wedding day, which was an expression of true joy.
