When Abby and Jack planned their wedding, they knew they wanted the day to reflect their shared love of the water and the people closest to them. They chose to be married at Abby’s family’s lakeside home, a setting filled with sentimental meaning.
The evening before the ceremony, guests enjoyed a welcome party on the boat. On the wedding day, guests were greeted with champagne as they entered the family home, then made their way to their seats—shaded by lawn umbrellas—along the shore for the exchange of vows.
Beneath the lush August greenery, Abby and Jack said “I do” in an intimate and heartfelt ceremony. Rather than a traditional wedding party, they chose to have their siblings stand beside them. In a particularly touching moment, the couple’s grandmothers served as their flower girls, symbolically tying the families together and bringing tears to many eyes.
