Jana and Alex met at the Montessori Center of Minnesota, where they learned to collaborate and support each other side by side. The pair eventually opened their own Montessori school, and now they live out their shared passion and dream together. Alex proposed to Jana with a flower-shaped engagement ring of red garnets inherited from his grandmother, and garnet poetically inspired the intentional and sentimental color palette for their wedding.
The couple’s elegant ceremony at The Hutton House was subtly moody and romantic, drawing upon treasured heirlooms and traditions for a celebration of love and legacy. Jana also wore earrings gifted to her great-grandmother by her great-grandfather on their 40th wedding anniversary, another sweet familial nod.
The bride and groom opted to wait until the altar to see each other for the first time that day in the venue’s stunning natural light. Sumptuous florals brought free-flowing energy to the classic white space, enriching the tender drama. Roses in shades of ivory and peach balanced garnet-red ranunculus, and the arrangements also included the surprise appearance of blue thistles, Alex’s favorite flower.
