Classic Black-and-White Elegance in Candlelit Wedding Day at The Depot

Matt and Luke’s wedding day was designed with flow in mind—the grooms were determined to foster connectivity and inclusivity throughout their nuptials. Their morning began quietly with a private exchange of vows, ensuring they’d start their wedding as they would end it—just the two of them. Soon after, Matt and Luke boarded a shuttle with their wedding party to explore Minneapolis, stopping for photos at Stone Arch Bridge, Gold Medal Park and Father Hennepin Bluff Park.

At The Depot, the industrial-yet-vintage space was the perfect backdrop for the heartfelt ceremony, reflective of the couple’s values and family ties. Each groom was escorted down the aisle by his parents, and loved ones shared readings chosen specifically for the occasion. The vows included a unity moment, similar to a unity candle, representing their lasting bond and commitment. Afterward, they gathered with their parents and wedding party for a brief, private toast—a moment to exhale before the celebration continued into the evening. 

The reception glowed with candlelight and soft greenery running the length of tables. Guests sipped signature cocktails—Ely Elixir and Cottonwood Concoction—while framed photos of family wedding days warmed the room and connected love stories from the past and present. Dinner led to dancing, beginning with the couple’s first dance, followed by the sweet mothers-sons dance and culminating in a lively number with their wedding party that had everyone cheering.
