Mornings are the best time of the day for Abigail Sawtell and Andrew McNamara; it’s when they share their first cup of coffee, nothing short of magnificent for these two coffee aficionados. Perhaps it stems from their college days, when they first met during caffeine-fueled study sessions. Andrew was a teacher’s assistant for one of Abigail’s classes, but it was not until a few years later, when by chance they traveled to a concert in Chicago together, that they clicked; of course, dating entailed exploring a myriad of coffee shops. Abigail and Andrew opted to host a morning wedding because they loved the thought of getting married at the start of the day and having the whole day to spend in newlywed bliss. The day began cheery and whimsical, with spring décor and bright details: a yellow bow tie for Andrew and golden flower tucked behind Abigail’s ear. Naturally, the guests were greeted with freshly brewed coffee before the ceremony, which was followed by a cocktail hour of mimosas and mini doughnut kabobs. The breakfast menu consisted of delectable egg bakes, bacon, bagels and French toast, and in lieu of the traditional wedding cake, dessert came in the form of blueberry coffee cake. Guests received coffee beans as favors, which the duo brought back from a trip to Honduras. Abigail and Andrew describe the morning as peaceful and joyful, with lots of laughter and high spirits. After the wedding came to a close, the couple changed into more comfortable garb and ordered pizza, spending the afternoon with their family and wedding party and carrying on the celebrations in festive, casual style.
