“How many times have people passed the old Walker Library and didn’t notice it was even there?” asks Sheila Cachuela, partner at Entourage Events Group, a team that became so enamored with the Minneapolis building that they gave it new life as the Mansion at Uptown. “This building is too gorgeous not to stand out—we want everyone to see it.”

Now everyone will, thanks to the building’s August 2016 reopening as a lounge and event venue. Using its rich bibliophile past as inspiration, the Mansion at Uptown combines history and elegance to create a one-of-a-kind wedding hot spot that is anything but buttoned-up. (And come on—who hasn’t wanted to hoot, holler and dance around the hushed halls of a library?)

The space is perfect for a literature-loving couple looking to make a statement. With an interior as alluring as its exterior, the Mansion has a regal-glam vibe to rival the swankiest of venues. Its customizable floor plan can accommodate anything from a seated dinner for 200 to a more relaxed reception for 500 of your nearest and dearest.

“Now it’s impossible to drive or walk by without slowing down or stopping to take a second look,” Cachuela says of the Mansion. “The Mansion fits Uptown like a glove.”
