On the day after Christmas in 2016, Joey staged an elaborate prank that the whole local fire department was in on in order to propose to Ali. After getting down on one knee in full firefighter gear, he and Ali began planning an unforgettable New Year's Eve wedding at the Machine Shop. The couple tried to stay away from being too on-the-nose for New Year's Eve, but they couldn't resist a balloon drop at midnight. For both the bride and groom, who stood on the second floor balcony to watch their guests celebrate in that moment, the stroke of midnight ended up being their favorite memory of the evening.
