The Glass Slipper Caters to Curvy Brides

“Every bride should have a chance to try on wedding dresses in her size,” says Pat Ferguson, owner of The Glass Slipper, a bridal salon in Andover that specializes in plus-size wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. Most bridal salons, Ferguson says, carry samples in sizes 8 to 12. The Glass Slipper offers samples from sizes 14 to 32 from lines like Allure, Private Label, Liz Fields, Angelique’s and more.

“There’s a lot of fashion advice out there that says a plus-size gal should only wear an A-line gown,” Ferguson says. “I don’t agree with that. Here, brides can try on empire, fit-and-flare or A-line dresses. Plus-size brides come in all different shapes, so we offer a variety of styles. Our brides are really excited to be able to try on so many dresses. Every bride wants to find that one dress that she likes best.”
