Shelly & Josh

Sept. 28, 2008 at The Gale Mansion in Minneapolis

As a professional photographer, Shelly Mosman has witnessed hundreds of weddings. So it’s no surprise that when she became engaged, she knew exactly what she wanted: an outdoor ceremony at the Gale Mansion in Minneapolis, followed by brunch. Getting to the altar was a similarly straightforward process for Shelly and her fiancé, Josh Sundby. They became friends in 1993 before Josh relocated to Los Angeles. In December 2007 he moved home and looked up Shelly online. They began dating in June 2008 and immediately knew they wanted to be lifelong partners. Serendipity continued when Shelly found a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier silk gauze frock on the sample rack and turned to friend Sara Doherty of Crazy Daisy Design for invitations. Flora Bella made the bride an equally enchanting bouquet, which Shelly wrapped in her great-grandmother’s handkerchief. Josh’s sister officiated and a Buddhist monk offered a blessing. After champagne brunch at the Gale, which included a classic white cake by Jessica’s Cakes, guests progressed to Bev’s Wine Bar for pizza and live jazz. The newlyweds held an after-party at their place in the wee hours of the morning, then hosted family and friends the next day.
