Samantha & Alex
Samantha Brochman and Alex West’s story began six years ago, when they met at a small bakery in Hastings where they both worked. This fun-loving couple wanted to have a very personal, sentimental celebration unique to their lives and families. Meaningful traditions met whimsical twists: They were married in the same church that both the bride’s parents and grandparents were married in, as Samantha wanted to be the third generation of the family married there, and the couple posed wearing Converse All-Stars in their wedding shades of brown and yellow. Parked in front of the church in New Trier? A 1959 Ford Galaxie, Samantha’s grandparents’ wedding getaway car. Altogether it made for a memorable event. A family friend arranged all of the flowers, while Samantha’s goddaughter Joselyn was the flower girl. Instead of cake, the guests were served cupcakes in flavors of s’mores, pumpkin chocolate chip, and chocolate-dipped strawberry.
