Nina & Matt

Oct. 9, 2010 at Gallery 13 in Minneapolis

Boy meets girl. They fall in love. Sounds simple, but Nina Englander and Matt Healy broke with tradition when it came to their October wedding at Gallery 13. They felt as if there was pressure to plan the traditional wedding, so they decided to tailor the wedding to suit them. Their wedding was a way to celebrate their commitment to each other and move forward after law and medical school.

Was the groom awaiting the bride at the end of the aisle? How about the father-of-the-bride “giving her away”? Not this time. Nina and Matt had their siblings walk first and then each set of parents. They were the last to come together and they left the ceremony as one unit. Every aspect of their wedding was intentional: writing their own vows, positioning their friends and family at long banquet tables to encourage socializing, self-serve wine at the tables and Nina’s beautiful red dress by Vineyard. It was important for the wedding to be all about who they are and being themselves.
