Melissa & Philip

June 20, 2009 at Wayzata Country Club

Working in the same lab at the University of Chicago, Melissa McMahill and Philip Connell met and discovered they shared the same group of friends. Soon after, they chose to share their lives. Their early-summer ceremony reflected the softness of the season, with pinks, peaches, creams and yellows. St. Peter’s Church in Delano provided the perfect backdrop for the delicate, subtle theme with its classically painted architectural details. The reception was full of sweet touches, from ribbon-decked white paper lanterns gracing the room to chocolate-bar place cards. Sweeter still, Melissa slipped into her mother’s wedding dress, sewn by her grandmother, for dancing at the celebration. The couple’s adorable daughter Delaney shared in the celebration—perhaps the sweetest gift of all.
