Mandi & Joe

Oct. 2, 2010 at the Stonebrooke Golf Club in Shakopee

In a move straight from a true gentleman’s playbook, Joe Sampeer approached Mandi Menk’s father to ask for her hand in marriage. The old-fashioned romance worked, and a year later the two were putting together a wedding based on the idea of “simple elegance.” Family traveled from as far away as Korea, an effort repaid with a guest-focused reception to thank their loved ones for the role that each had played in helping the couple reach that special day. The bride and groom’s first glimpse of one another was a carefully orchestrated bit of magic—at once totally private and personal, captured by photographers who stood a discreet distance away. Joe stood on a bridge facing away from Mandi. She walked slowly toward him, heart racing with each step closer. She tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned to face her, a moment they will always remember.
