Maggie Gebhard and Chris Mesaros appreciate both the fleeting beauty of a Minnesota autumn and the timelessness of France, a place close to their hearts. The couple spent the summer of 2007 living in Paris and traveling around France, and wanted to bring some of its classic elegance to their celebration. Chris proposed to Maggie on their five-year anniversary over a romantic homemade meal of lobster and French Champagne. Each table at their intimate reception was named after a French city they had visited and included a custom-designed postcard of the city. Since the couple has a special fondness for desserts, they chose a variety of mini cupcakes, frosted in autumnal shades, and fruit tarts, a nod to France. Guests were invited to play boules (lawn bowling) and croquet on the grounds of the stately Cedarhurst Mansion.
