Krista & Brad

April 16, 2011 at the Calhoun Beach Club in Minneapolis

Brad Nelson went to great lengths—or heights, rather—to propose to Krista Henkelman at approximately 13,000 feet during a hiking tip in Colorado. The couple first met after being invited back for a second interview for a job, but didn’t meet or talk again until three years later when they ran into each other in Minneapolis. Krista and Brad decided to take a vintage and traditional approach to their wedding. The couple added Minnesota touches to their Calhoun Beach Club wedding—where they had their traditional ceremony and vintage reception—by including vintage postcards of various sites in Minneapolis (including Lake Harriet and the Orpheum Theatre) and using Krista’s grandmother's wedding dress. As a treat to their family and friends, Krista and Brad made a donation to Legacy, A Tribute to the King of Pop. Five performers sang and danced to “Billy Jean” and other Michael Jackson classics.
