Katie & Matt
Katie Czarniecki and Matthew Hill met in high school, when she asked him to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. They’ve been together ever since, even through college years in separate states. They chose Minnetonka Orchards for their wedding, in part because they knew there would be a lot of guests with children. The orchard provided ample opportunity for the kids to stay busy while their parents enjoyed the party, which included a pre-dinner champagne happy hour complete with lawn games. Having once been judges in a wedding cake challenge on the Food Network, Katie and Matt knew they’d never be able to find a cake that compared to the 6-foot-tall confections they’d seen on the show. An ice cream truck was the perfect alternative, and a huge hit with the guests—though Matt’s godmother did insist on baking a small cake for the couple to cut, for tradition’s sake.
