Kate & Karl

Kate Mendrygal and Karl Wahoske met on a kickball field. Both Target employees, they’d signed up for the company’s intramural kickball league as a way to meet people. The strategy worked: They locked eyes at the first game, and by the end of the season they were a couple. When it came time to pop the question, Karl brought Kate back to that very field. They still play on the same team each spring, revisiting the spot where it all started. Their wedding featured a bit of unscripted entertainment, courtesy of the groom and his college buddies, who are former members of the Notre Dame glee club, as well as the campus a cappella group. After a little good-natured prodding, the guys stepped up to the mike for an impromptu choral performance.
