On the day of her wedding, Kaeli Wayne became not only a wife, but an aunt as well: Her matron-of-honor older sister went into labor—two weeks early! The day went off without a hitch, though, in spite of some initially frantic and teary phone calls between the bride-to-be and the mother-to-be. The wedding theme was “classic nautical,” with lots of blue and white stripes and marine-style ropes to set the mood for the lakeshore event. Centerpieces incorporated vintage wedding photos in two-sided frames—Kaeli and Derek’s parents on one side, their grandparents on the other, each with the couple’s unique love story. After a night of dancing and carousing, still clad in their wedding attire, the whole family descended on the hospital for a 2 a.m. visit with the newest addition to the family.
