Jessica & Rob
Candlelight, soft music and chocolate are known to dazzle most women, so when Jessica Tyler failed to notice the diamond ring dangling from her fondue fork, who could blame her? Rob Lokhorst waited a few minutes before pointing out the sparkler to his high school sweetheart, then asked for her hand. Inspired by the joy of the Christmas season, the couple chose to marry Dec. 21 in Northwestern College’s Nazareth Chapel. Their longtime youth pastor conducted the evening ceremony, which began when the couple’s parents cut a ribbon, symbolizing Rob and Jessica’s entry into marriage. Jessica borrowed a floor-length swing cape from a friend to match her ivory satin Mori Lee gown from Wedding Chapel Bridals, while the clips in her hair came from her great-grandmother’s wedding shoes. Scarlet blooms from Donato’s Floral brought punch to the sleek black-and-white-themed affair, which featured a polka dot cake by Keys Café. Rob’s entertaining approach to garter removal, which was to sprint across the room then slide on his knees to Jessica’s feet, left guests in stitches.
