Jen & Mike

Aug. 1, 2009 at Springfield Community Center in Springfield

When Jen Amsden and Mike Altermatt met on Christmas Eve in 2005, they discovered they had lived a mere 10 miles apart in southwestern Minnesota their whole lives without ever crossing paths. Whether happenstance or fate, the at-long-last meeting had an inevitable outcome. Just a week later, they happened to attend the same New Year’s party and have been inseparable ever since. The couple planned a summer wedding, and when Jen thinks of summer, she thinks of yellow. With that in mind, they created a celebration of simple elegance—and 350 guests. Yellow also symbolizes happiness and energy, and this celebration was no exception. Playful elements like sunny yellow lollipops caught the eyes of children, like flower girl Ella, and adults alike, reflecting the joy of the “neighborly” couple.
