At first they were certain they wanted a destination wedding in California, far away from the rolling farmlands of the Midwest. But in the end, Anna Seime and Dan Jankovich chose to be wed on a quaint farmstead, tucked away in the green pastures near Rochester, once owned by the Mayo brothers. It turned out to be the perfect peaceful and pastoral setting they didn’t even realize they were after. The stone floors and the whorled wood of the barn were surrounded by hundred-year-old oak trees and flanked by cornfields. The wedding was held during the harvest season, so the menu included roasted root vegetables, butternut-squash ravioli and warm apple crisp with homemade ice cream, all served on tables covered in burlap-textured tablecloths and adorned with cornucopias of apples and artichokes. Throughout the day, guests were free to explore the farmstead and adjoining blacksmith shop. Meanwhile, Anna and Dan were overjoyed with the acres of countryside memories they found on their special day.
