Amy & Eric
When Eric Howe sent his girlfriend, Amy Ruff, to the spa for the day and welcomed her home to champagne and roses, she thought he was just being extraordinarily sweet. Then he popped the question, and things got even sweeter. The couple, who live in Chicago, planned a late autumn wedding in Amy’s hometown of Minneapolis. A sumptuous green and brown color scheme complemented both the season and The Depot’s elegant setting. Amy, resplendent in a mermaid-style lace sheath by Monique Lhuillier, entered the hotel’s window-lined Winter Garden to Ray LaMontagne’s “Hold You in My Arms.” During the evening ceremony, the couple drank sweet and bitter wines to symbolize marriage’s ups and downs. Amy’s dad announced the couple with a touching speech before dinner in the Great Hall, where family wedding photos and emerald blooms by Skinner Jones adorned the tables. The rollicking reception also featured cupcakes by Gail Geist, a candy buffet and the highly interactive band Synergy.
