Surdyk’s Catering is proud to offer options for each level of service, whether you’re looking for a simple drop-off order, a little help with set up, or a fully-serviced event. We offer passed hors d’oeuvres, buffets, plated meals, stations, and full bar service. Our cuisine is best defined as “New American,” meaning it’s fresh and modern with influences from all around the world.

Can your menus be customized to suit the client’s preference?

Yes! We like to think of our menus as a preview, an amuse-bouche of sorts, of our capabilities. Our culinary team delights in creating custom menus to suit each couple’s needs.

Is taste-testing available?

Yes, we are happy to offer tastings. Tastings give us an opportunity to get to know a couple while we perfect their menu for the big day. Surdyk’s Catering also hosts promotional parties twice a year; we invite all prospective (and current) clients to these events to give them a chance to taste some of our favorite new items.

Do you possess a liquor license?

Yes; after 80 years in the liquor business, we’ve learned a thing or two about hosting a fabulous bar.

Bar options available (cash bar, limited bar, open bar):

Cash bar, open bar packages charged by the hour, hosted bar charged on consumption. Most couples choose a combination of open/hosted bar and cash bar; we’re happy to work within your budget to provide the best service for your guests.

Are any complimentary decorative items provided for food tables?

At Surdyk’s Catering, we believe that the display is just as important as the food. We provide seasonally-appropriate décor items like garlands, herbs, votives, fruits, flowers, and more as part of any buffet presentation. Each buffet is custom designed using wood wine crates as levels to create a dynamic display.

Cost per person range:

Each menu is completely custom; weddings typically start at about $30 per person.

Do you offer dinner stations?

Yes, and we’ve done it all! From a Vietnamese “takeout” table to taco stations to the grandest Surf & Turf display you’ve ever seen – if you can dream it, we can make it happen.

Do you do dessert buffets?

Yes! We have an in-house pastry chef that creates gorgeous displays of sweets, including gluten-free and vegan options.

Surdyk’s is a 4th-generation family-owned and operated business based out of “Nord’East” Minneapolis. We’ve been making entertaining easy since 1934, and we’ve always taken pride in providing great products and a great customer experience. Surdyk’s Catering was born as a natural extension of our family business.
