Sassafras Floral & Garden Design
What type/style of flowers do you work with most? We are SO lucky to work with fantastic vendors who can locate almost any flower any time of the year, but we still experience the fleeting thrill each season of the first bunch of peonies, a full bunch of lily-of-the-valley, the rich deep autumnal colors of west coast hydrangea, tangles of bittersweet, and the perfect bunch of blushing bride protea. How would you describe your style? Eclectic, chic and dramatic. We don’t really fit into one style. We love clean and modern, and we love lush and romantic. We strive to make everything have a dramatic presence no matter the style. Are you available to pin on corsages and boutonnieres at the site? Of course, we are a full service owner operated business, and we book limited events so that we are available to attend to the details of each couple’s wedding. Do you do bouquet preservation? If so, what is your cost? No. How long have you been working with flowers? Sassafras was established in 2000, and between the three partners, we have well over 30 years of experience in floral design, plus backgrounds in fine arts, garden design and landscaping. Are you available to deliver items from my ceremony to the reception? Yes, we can arrange to transfer your arrangements, it’s a great way to get double duty out of your flowers. However, this works best if there is a lapse in time between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. What type of rental items do you have? We have quite an eclectic mix: mod ceramic containers, vintage milk-glass, amber glass, and art deco pieces, mercury glass, rustic brown urns, sake cups, antique blue mason jars. Anything can make a great container for centerpieces, we always welcome opportunities to work with new materials, which is especially fun if it represents the couple in some way. If we don’t have it, we can rent it for you. Are there any extra services you provide? We want your flowers and your wedding in general to reflect YOUR style, and along those lines, we encourage our clients to incorporate elements that make centerpieces or a bouquet or boutonniere more personal; a piece of jewelry, a leather cuff, mod buttons, feathers, fruit, metal, vintage fabrics, seashells, driftwood, antlers, fishing lures, golf tees, etc. etc., anything that is a reflection of the two of you and the interests you share. |
