What is the capacity of your reception location?

McNamara offers 2 all-inclusive wedding packages that fit a wide range of capacities. Memorial Hall is perfect for weddings up to 400 people. University Hall is ideal for smaller receptions up to 150 guests. Both packages can accommodate ceremonies.

What are your dinner prices for a sit-down and buffet?

Our exclusive caterer, D'Amico Catering, is adept at working within budgets and will help guide you to the options that meet your vision AND your budget.

What is the rental cost?

2 all-inclusive room packages range from $2000 to $4700 and depend on the day of the week and season. Optional add-ons (projector, early access, etc.) incur additional costs. Food, beverages, parking are not included in these prices.

Am I required to use your food, beverages, and serving attendants?

Yes, D'Amico Catering is our exclusive, on-site caterer.

What is your cake cutting fee?

$2.25 per person

What is your closing time?

McNamara weddings include 7 hours of room rental and typically run from 5pm - 12am but we are flexible. New Year's Eve weddings can extend to 12:30am.

Is there adequate parking available?

An adjacent 500-car ramp is connected by tunnel to McNamara - perfect for weddings in the winter! Events rates for weddings run $8-$10 per car.

Do you have a PA system?

In 2015, McNamara was named Best High-Tech Venue by Included in our wedding packages are one handheld wireless microphone, a lapel microphone for an officiant and house music. Connections for auxiliary cords (smart phones) are in all rooms. The screen and projector are an additional cost.

Do you have overnight accommodations?

The swanky 300-room Commons Hotel is connected by tunnel to McNamara. Accommodations can also be found at the nearby Courtyard by Marriott and Aloft Minneapolis Hotel. Both of these hotels are within 2 miles of McNamara Alumni Center, include shuttles and are on the Light Rail Green Line along with McNamara.

Do you have space for doing a ceremony?

Yes! Our venue can host wedding ceremonies and receptions in a variety of spaces: Memorial Hall ceremony capacity is 400 people; Johnson Great Room ceremony capacity is 176 people; University Hall ceremony capacity is 150 people and Thomas Swain Room ceremony capacity is 108 people.
